Bürgersaalkirche

church free

The Bürgersaalkirche, located near Munich's Stachus, is an impressive baroque church with a two-storey structure. It was built in the 18th century as a meeting hall for the Marian Men's Congregation and later consecrated. The upper hall serves as a prayer room with magnificent baroque furnishings, while the lower hall houses a memorial to the blessed Father Rupert Mayer, who courageously opposed the regime during the Nazi era. The church impresses with its ornate ceiling paintings and numerous stucco decorations and offers a peaceful place of worship in the middle of the city.
