Altstadtbrücke Görlitz

free

The Görlitz Old Town Bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Lusatian Neisse, which connects the German town of Görlitz in Saxony with the Polish town of Zgorzelec. The original Old Town Bridge has existed since the Middle Ages and was a central link between the districts on both sides of the Neisse for centuries. It was destroyed in 1945 shortly before the end of the war and only rebuilt decades later in the course of European integration. The new bridge was opened in 2004 as part of the EU's eastward expansion.
